Polling Station

Tiny garage on Cortland Street with two long tables and a few ballot boxes. Two guys manning the tables with steaming coffees. A good dozen or so people milling around on the sidewalk. The garage crammed with people.
This was just as important as who 'wins' the election and has zero to do with politics or democracy.

A Man Escaped & Lancelot of the Lake

are two awesome movies by Robert Bresson. In both, you hardly get to know or learn about the characters' personality. They do remarkable things (escape from nazi prison, knight of round table)and next to no ego is evinced. Only small glimpses of persona here and there. The characters are mostly just vessels of Belief and Will doing things without style or polish.
Man is a moral animal.
